Galaxy Z Fold modelsGalaxy Z Fold screen replacement in Manchester
Every Fold has two screens, and they break in different ways. A cracked cover screen is usually a drop, while the inner folding screen tends to fail along the crease or from pressure while the phone is closed. We replace each one separately, so you only pay for the screen that's actually damaged.
After fitting a new Z Fold screen, we test touch across the whole display, the fold itself and the fingerprint sensor, plus S Pen input on the Fold3 to Fold6. It's the same careful approach we take with every phone screen replacement.
Cover screen
The outer screen works like a normal phone's: toughened glass bonded to an AMOLED panel. It's the one most likely to crack in a drop, and it's the simpler, less expensive of the two screens to replace.
- Cracked or shattered outer glass
- Lines, flickering or a black cover display
- Touch not responding when the phone is closed
Inner folding screen
The main screen is ultra-thin glass under a protective layer, built to fold hundreds of thousands of times over its life. It's the most delicate part of any Fold, and replacing it is the bigger job.
- A line, bulge or dead strip along the crease
- Black patches that spread from a corner
- A protective layer that is peeling or bubbling
Six things every Galaxy Z Fold owner should know
Leave the inner screen protector on
Every Fold leaves the factory with a protective layer over the inner screen, and it's part of how the display is protected.
Why it matters for a repairIf it starts peeling or bubbling, it can usually be replaced on its own, which costs far less than a new inner screen. Pulling it off yourself risks damaging the display underneath.
The crease is normal, a change in it is not
Every Fold has a visible crease where the screen bends, and the newest models have the shallowest yet.
Why it matters for a repairA crease that suddenly looks sharper, raised or lined with dead pixels usually means the layers inside the inner screen have been damaged.
Grit is the hinge’s biggest enemy
Sand, pocket lint and grit can work their way into the hinge each time the phone opens and closes.
Why it matters for a repairA creaking hinge, or a Fold that won't close flat, is worth checking early. Grit pressed into the inner screen can also leave marks along the fold.
IPX8 and IP48 are not the same
The Fold3, Fold4 and Fold5 are rated IPX8: water resistant, but with no dust rating. From the Fold6 onwards, IP48 adds protection against particles over 1mm.
Why it matters for a repairNeither rating keeps out fine dust or sand, and water damage is never covered by Samsung's warranty, so drops in water still need checking quickly.
Only some Folds work with the S Pen
The Fold3 to Fold6 support the S Pen Fold Edition and S Pen Pro. The Fold7, Fold8 and Fold8 Ultra don't support an S Pen at all.
Why it matters for a repairOn a Fold3 to Fold6, we test S Pen input after an inner screen replacement. A standard S Pen isn't designed for the folding screen, so only use a Fold-compatible pen.
Two batteries, not one
A Fold's battery is split into two cells, one in each half of the phone.
Why it matters for a repairWhen a Fold's battery life drops, we test both cells, so you only pay for the replacement your phone actually needs.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold repair FAQs
How much does a Galaxy Z Fold screen replacement cost in Manchester?
It depends on which screen and which model. The inner folding screen is the most expensive part of any Fold, while a cover screen costs considerably less, and a peeling inner screen protector can often be replaced for less again. Send us your model and the fault for a free quote: the price is agreed before any work starts.
Can you replace just the cover screen on my Z Fold?
Yes. The cover screen and inner screen are separate parts, so if only the outer screen is cracked, that's all we replace. We check the inner screen as well, and tell you if we find anything else before doing any extra work.
My Z Fold's inner screen protector is peeling. What should I do?
Stop using the inner screen as much as you can, and don't peel the protector off, because it's part of how the folding screen is protected. A peeling protector can usually be replaced on its own, which costs far less than a new inner screen.
Is the crease on my Galaxy Z Fold a fault?
No, every Fold has a crease where the screen bends. It becomes a problem if it suddenly looks sharper or raised, or if lines, dead pixels or black patches appear along it, which usually means the inner screen has been damaged.
Will my S Pen still work after an inner screen replacement?
On the Z Fold3 to Z Fold6, yes: we test S Pen input with the new screen before your phone comes back to you. The Z Fold7, Z Fold8 and Z Fold8 Ultra don't support an S Pen at all, so there's nothing to test on those models.
Do you repair the new Galaxy Z Fold8 and Z Fold8 Ultra?
Yes. They went on sale in August 2026, and both use screens and batteries of their own, including the Fold8's new wide 7.6-inch inner screen. Parts for brand-new models can take a little longer to arrive, so we'll confirm availability and timing when we quote.
Is it worth repairing an older Z Fold3 or Z Fold4?
Often, yes, especially for a cracked cover screen, a worn battery or a charging fault. An inner screen on an older Fold can cost a large share of the phone's value, though, so we'll give you an honest view on whether it's worth it before you decide.
