Which Galaxy Z Flip do you have?
From the outside, most Flips look alike, but the cover screen has come in three different sizes since the Flip3, and every generation takes its own parts. Check Settings, then About phone, for your exact model.

Galaxy Z Flip screen replacement in Manchester
Every Flip has a main folding screen inside and a cover screen outside, and each is replaced as its own part. Dropped closed, it's usually the cover screen that cracks. Dropped open, or squeezed shut on something, and the main screen takes the damage.
Once the new Z Flip screen is fitted, we test touch from edge to edge, the display across the fold and the cover screen's widgets before your phone comes back to you. It's the same care we put into every phone screen replacement, whatever the make.
Main folding screen
Open the Flip and you're looking at a 6.7 or 6.9-inch folding panel, covered by a thin protective layer. It bends at the centre every time you close the phone, so most main screen faults start along that fold.
- A dark line or flickering strip across the middle
- Touch that stops working on one half
- A protective layer lifting at the edges or the fold
Cover screen
The outside screen is the one that meets the pavement when a Flip is dropped closed. How big a job it is depends on your model: on the Flip7 and Flip8, the screen fills almost the whole top half, with the cameras set into it.
- Cracked or spider-webbed outer glass
- A cover screen that stays black or shows lines
- Widgets and notifications that ignore your touch
What we look for when a Galaxy Z Flip comes in
Three generations of cover screen
The Flip3 and Flip4 have a small 1.9-inch strip. The Flip5, Flip6 and Flip7 FE have a 3.4-inch screen beside the cameras, and the Flip7 and Flip8 a 4.1-inch screen that surrounds them.
Why it matters for a repairEach generation takes a completely different part, so tell us your exact model and we'll quote for the right cover screen first time.
Hinge-first landings
A Flip that slips out of a pocket half-open often lands on the hinge or a corner of the fold.
Why it matters for a repairThat can bend the hinge or damage the main screen from the inside, even when the outer glass looks fine, so we check how the phone opens and closes as well as the screens.
The fingerprint sensor is in the side button
Unlike Samsung's S-series phones, Flips read your fingerprint through the power button on the side of the frame.
Why it matters for a repairReplacing a Flip's main or cover screen doesn't touch the sensor at all, so your fingerprint keeps working exactly as before.
Mind the hinge gap
The Flip6, Flip7 and Flip8 are rated IP48, which keeps out particles 1mm and larger, while the Flip3 to Flip5 are rated IPX8, with no dust rating at all.
Why it matters for a repairFine sand and lint can still slip into the hinge gap, and a gritty, crunchy fold is worth getting checked before it marks the main screen.
Split batteries
Every Flip spreads its battery across two cells, one in the top half and one in the bottom.
Why it matters for a repairWhen battery life fades, we test both cells before recommending a replacement, so the quote reflects what your Flip actually needs.
Brand-new Flip8 parts
The Galaxy Z Flip8 only arrived in the summer of 2026, and its screens are unique to it.
Why it matters for a repairWe'll confirm part availability and timing when we quote, rather than promise a turnaround we can't guarantee on a phone this new.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip repair FAQs
How much does a Galaxy Z Flip screen replacement cost in Manchester?
It depends on the screen and the generation. The main folding screen is the dearest part of any Flip, and cover screens range from the small panel on a Flip3 or Flip4 to the large 4.1-inch screen on a Flip7 or Flip8. Tell us your model and what's broken, and you'll get a free quote with the price agreed before any work.
Can you replace just the cover screen on my Z Flip?
Yes, the cover screen is a separate part from the main folding screen. If only the outside is cracked, that's the only screen we replace, and we'll let you know if testing turns up anything else.
Will my fingerprint still work after a Z Flip screen replacement?
Yes. The fingerprint sensor on every Flip is built into the power button on the side, so neither screen replacement affects it.
There's a line across the middle of my Flip's main screen. Can it be fixed?
A line, flicker or dead strip along the fold usually means the main folding screen has been damaged inside, often after a drop or pressure on the closed phone. It's fixed by replacing the main screen, and we can diagnose it for free first.
My Z Flip's screen protector is lifting. Should I take it off?
No. The layer on the main screen comes fitted from the factory and helps protect the folding panel, so peeling it off can damage the display. A lifting protector can usually be replaced on its own, which is far cheaper than a new main screen.
Do you repair the Galaxy Z Flip8 and Z Flip7 FE?
Yes. The Flip7 FE shares its layout with the Flip6, while the Flip8 has its own 6.9-inch main screen and 4.1-inch cover screen. We'll confirm part availability for your model when we quote, especially for the newest Flip8.
Is an older Z Flip3 or Z Flip4 worth repairing?
For a battery, charging port or small cover screen, usually yes. A main screen can cost a big share of an older Flip's value, though, so we'll tell you straight whether it's worth doing before you commit.
