How a PS5 HDMI port is replaced
The HDMI port is soldered directly to the PS5's motherboard, so replacing it is precise board-level work. We strip the console down, remove the damaged port, clean the pads and solder a new port in place.
Behind the port sits the chip that produces the HDMI signal. If a drop or a power surge has damaged that too, we'll tell you before going further, because it's a different repair. Once the new port is in, we test the picture on a TV before the console comes back.
